This PanelView Plus training course has been designed to give Engineers an insight into the configuration and operation of the Factory Talk software coupled with AB PanelView Plus HMI products. The course will guide students through the basic design and configuration of the HMI systems through to the operation and integration into the PLC control system.

Where possible, application specific exercises, actual drawings and plant projects will be used to allow the students to gain the greatest possible benefit from this course.

Objectives

• To introduce students to the concepts and operation of AB PanelView Plus HMI’s and FactoryTalk programming software.

• To be able to understand the structure of the HMI project in the FactoryTalk programming software.

• To be able to use the FactoryTalk programming software to create and develop a basic project and to be able to modify existing PanelView Plus HMI projects.

• To be able to restore a project backup into the AB PanelView Plus HMI from a backup copy.

First steps using FactoryTalk programming software.

Creating a PanelView Plus training project to demonstrate application examples.

Basic HMI drawing skills.

HMI tags and their creation.

Configuring the online connection to the HMI.

Creating PLC based tags.

Downloading the project to the HMI.

Obtaining runtime in FactoryTalk to simulate the HMI.

Developing plant mimics.

Configuration and screen development for project navigation.

Creating alarms and alarm displays.

Real time trending configuration and screen development.

Historical trending configuration and screen development.

Text list configuration and screen development.

HMI security and allowing access to specific pictures.
