This iFIX SCADA training course has been designed to give Engineers an insight into the configuration and operation of the Windows PC based iFIX SCADA software. The course will guide students through the basic design and configuration of the iFIX SCADA systems through to the operation and communications to the PLC control systems.

Where possible, application specific exercises, actual drawings and plant projects will be used to allow the students to gain the greatest possible benefit from this course.

Objectives

• To introduce students to the concepts and operation of iFIX development and runtime software.

• To be able to understand the structure of the iFIX SCADA project within the iFIX software.

• To be able to use the iFIX SCADA programming software to create and develop a project and to be able to modify existing iFIX SCADA projects.

• To be able to restore an iFIX SCADA project backup into the SCADA PC.

Creating an iFIX training project to demonstrate application examples.

Basic iFIX SCADA drawing skills.

Obtaining runtime in the iFIX SCADA system.

Tags and their creation.

Configuring the PLC connection to the iFIX SCADA system using a driver or OPC.

Creating PLC based tags.

Developing plant mimics.

iFIX SCADA system configuration and screen development for project navigation.

Creating alarms and alarm displays.

Real time trending configuration and screen development.

Historical trending configuration and screen development.

Text list configuration and screen development.

iFIX SCADA security and allowing access to specific pictures.

Application exercises and examples from your plant iFIX SCADA system.
