The Allen Bradley PLC 5 advanced training course has been designed to familiarise Electricians, Technicians and Maintenance Engineers with previous experience of PLC 5 controllers to the higher level features associated with the operation and maintenance of PLC 5 controllers and RSLogix 5 programming software.

Where possible, application specific exercises, actual drawings and plant programs will be used to allow the students to gain the greatest possible benefit from the course.

Objectives

• To revise and further develop an understanding of Allen Bradley PLC 5 Ladder instructions.

• To be able to use and understand the operation of a number of extended instructions.

• To develop an understanding of indirect addressing techniques available on PLC 5 controllers.

• To be able to understand, configure and locate faults on AB PLC 5 DH+ communication networks.

• To be able to use and configure network MSG instructions.

• To understand how the AB PanelView HMI is connected and configured.

Course Content

Creating the level advanced course training project and basic topic revision.

Ladder programming exercises using higher level instructions, including;

Introduction to files.

File arithmetic and logic instructions.

File search and compare functions.

Fault routines and selectable timed instructions.

Block transfer instructions.

Indirect programming techniques.

Configuring communications as used on plant.

Using the MSG instruction for network communications

Setting up a PanelView HMI to the PLC 5 system

If released to us two weeks before the scheduled course start date then we will include application exercises on your plant PLC 5 controller programs.
