The GEM 80 AGP course has been designed to familiarise Electricians, Technicians and Maintenance Engineers with little or no experience of using the latest Advanced GEM 80 Programmer Windows software on GEM 80 systems. If you are familiar with previous programming software then this course will guide you through the new features and benefits of this Windows based programming software. We have 6 sets of AGP V4 software to ensure that each student gets the full hands on experience with the latest programming package.


Objectives

  • To introduce students to the operation and facilities of AGP GEM 80 programming software.
  • To understand the different modes of operation regarding offline and online edits.
  • To understand how to get an online connection configured to connect to a GEM 80 using either a serial or Ethernet connection.
  • To understand how to use AGP to edit and monitor the GEM 80 ladder program online.
  • To understand how to set up a table monitor screen.
  • To understand how use the GEM 80 program search and cross reference facilities.
  • To understand the extra features offered when AGP is used with GEM 80 400 and 500 controllers.
  • To be able to use AGP to provide GEM 80 system diagnostic information to locate an error on the GEM 80 controller.
  • To be able to use AGP to create a backup copy of the GEM 80 controllers program and to be able to transfer a program back into the controller from a backup copy.

First steps using the AGP programming software.

Opening a training program to demonstrate the operation of AGP offline.

Getting an online connection to the GEM 80 controller in AGP, serial and/or Ethernet.

Downloading the user program to the GEM 80 controller from AGP.

Online monitoring and the cross reference search facility within AGP.

Creating and using tables in the table monitor to monitor the PLC status.

AGP and Special Function data and help.
